A shortcoming of Xananews has always been how it creates bolded,
italicized, and underlined text. You can place asterisk (*), slash(/),
underscore(_) around a word to achieve the desired effect but you
cannot do that for two or more words.

Here are some examples:

Today I *must* go to the store.

Today I /must/ go to the store.

Today I _must_ go to the store.

The word "must" has been emphasized in the above examples. Now I will
try the same with two words.

Today *I must* go to the store.

Today /I must/ go to the store.

Today _I must_ go to the store.

Placing a space within the special characters removes the ability to
format the emphasized phrase.

This issue has been discussed in the past and there hasn't been a
resolution that I have seen yet. Along the same lines, I'm not
entirely sure whether quoted messages retain the formatting either.
Other newsreaders don't seem to have this problem and I can read
messages from others that have several words in a row bolded, so it
doesn't seem to be a problem with XN's reading capability.
