Max line length exceeded

New to xananews, so getting used to it.

I've set up a batch to 'get all new messages' on a server with 4
newsgroups subscribed. Does it fine, but stalls on the third one. In
the status bar is the message 'Max line length exceeded' and messages
aren't downloaded (not even headers)

Don't try to D/L the third NG? <g>

Sounds like there may be a bad message on that server-group. Nothing
much you can do about it as far as I know. Perhaps Pieter or someone
who knows more about NNTP and XN will have some information.

Not a bad suggestion, truth be told - it's a time waster for sure.

Thanks. I realized that I was using an older version, so I installed
1.18 and now it's working, so all's well (although I see you're using
1.19)

I have to admit that I didn't look at the version of XN you were using,
even though it is prominently displayed in my Custom Header. <g>

The version of 1.19 that I am using is not the latest. It's a version
I compiled myself while trying, UNSUCCESSFULLY, to get Delphi's broken
toolbar to work so I could arrange the buttons the way I like. What
I'm using has the buttons hard-placed where like them, not where
XanaNews dumb default placement puts them. <g>

Try unsubscribing to the group and resubscribing.

Joan typed that updating her version of XN seems to have fixed the
issue.
